Silica Gel & Humidity Indication Card (HIC)

Product code: Dessicant

Silica Gel is synthetically amorphous silica, which is produced in the form of bead having the appearance of crystals. They can be considered as sponge like structures with a well-defined porosity, which can be varied by altering conditions during manufacturing. Desiccant Silica Gel has a narrow pore structure. This characteristic, couple with its large surface area, gives the product the ability to absorb moisture from air, gases and liquids.

Silica Gel / Dessicant is normally used with Humidity Indicator Cards (HIC)

PRODUCT TYPE

White – A white gel produced in a number of different bead sizes and the capacity to absorb large amount of moisture.
Blue – A blue gel produced by impregnating the white gel with 3% of cobalt chloride.
Blue gel exhibits deep blue coloration, which gradually turns to pink as water is absorbed.
Mix – A mixture of white and blue gels prepared for selected applications.

HEALTH & SAFETY ADVICE

Silica Gel is neither sillcotic nor toxic, but requires sensible handling to minimize the creation of dust. Facemasks should be worn during handling and exhaust ventilation used if available. If eye contact occurs, wash with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Blue gel, indicator grade, contains cobalt chloride: although this is toxic, the low concentration involved obviates the need for special precautions. Care should be taken, however to avoid contamination of food or accidental ingestion. In the event of the latter, medical attention should be sought immediately.

Our Products

About us

Working in close collaboration and with technical support from principals and raw materials suppliers, who are market leaders in their own field, has enabled us to offer quality finished products.

All converting processes are done in-house both in Singapore & China within our production facilities – from laminating, slitting, sheeting, die-cutting and bag forming using custom-built machinery.
No job is sub-contracted out, thus ensuring 100% production control over the entire manufacturing process.
